Trail guides that don’t sugarcoat
I’ll tell you when it’s actually steep, exposed, or a leg day from hell.
About Henry Hates Hiking
I’m Henry. I “hate” hiking so you don’t have to. I test routes, gear, and bad decisions around Monterrey & beyond, then turn them into guides you can actually use.
Translation: less scrolling, more actually going outside.
What is Henry Hates Hiking?
I’ll tell you when it’s actually steep, exposed, or a leg day from hell.
Stuff I actually use on local peaks and big trips. Lightweight, functional, and realistic on price.
Short emails with hike stories, screw-ups, and what I learned so you don’t repeat my mistakes.
I moved to Monterrey and suddenly found myself surrounded by mountains that look like they belong in a fantasy movie. Naturally, my friends said, “Let’s go for a little hike.”
That “little hike” turned into sweating, scrambling, and wondering why anyone does this for fun—right up until the moment we hit the summit. The view switched something in my brain. Now I can’t stop hiking.
I started recording those hikes with my phone, then a GoPro, then a drone. People began asking for routes, gear suggestions, and “which peaks are actually worth dying on.”
Henry Hates Hiking is my way of turning that chaos into something helpful: honest trail beta, dumb jokes, and practical info for normal people who just want big views.
You don’t need to be an ultra athlete. You just need a sense of adventure and maybe a healthy fear of heat stroke.
Think of the site as your below-average inteligence trail buddy that secretly did all the homework.
