Casa Dr. Aguirre Pequeño is a easy hiking route in La Huasteca, Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The trail is approximately 3.5 km with about 80 meters of elevation gain and usually takes around 2 hours.Trail overviewThis hike starts near the entrance to Parque Ecologico la Huasteca. There is lots of free, safe parking. You will first walk along the main road until you enter several residential streets. The entire path is marked with signs indicating where to go. Physically the route is very easy. There is a slight incline right before reaching the house, but it is nothing too difficult. There is very little shade along the route so it can be quite hot. Route summaryThe first stretch along the main highway is flat and can be hot due to lack of shade. The road inside of la Huasteca is dirt so when there are a lot of cars driving there can be a lot of dust. I recommend bringing something to cover your face with so that you aren’t breathing a ton of dust. After that, you enter a winding residential street where you will pass houses and quintas of people that live there. The final stretch has no buildings along it and lasts maybe 10 minutes, taking you straight to the house. Overall the route is very easy to navigate. Getting there
Park at the large parking lot located near the entrance to la Huasteca. You will see lots of other cars parked there, as this is a popular spot for people to go run or ride a bike. As of February 2026, there is no fee to enter the park or park your car.
